Cheek augmentation can be performed using cheek implants. This will enhance the beauty of the face. Cheek implants are a way to improve your face and achieve the ideal aesthetic cheek shape. Cheek implants come in many sizes and shapes, but obviously there must be an ideal size and shape for each individual patient to see the most aesthetic improvement from their cheek implants. There are several types of cheek implant material and between forty and sixty possible shapes and sizes of cheek implants available. This can lead to a great deal of confusion when people are trying to decide on what cheek implant to receive. Cheek augmentation is important to beauty because cheeks have the ability to make the face appear female, male, old, young, attractive, or less so.

So it would seem that the very first thing for you to learn is exactly what is the ideal shape for a persons' cheeks. Only then will you be able to accurately asses your need for cheek augmentation as a means to achieve this ideal aesthetic shape. Based on the research that plastic surgeons have done, women and men have very different ideal beauty shapes when it comes to their cheeks. women, on the other hand, look feminine, soft, and attractive with round, full cheeks while men, on the other hand, are ideally suited for cheeks that are narrow and short (this gives the face an overall angular or chiseled appearance that is usually perceived as masculine and rugged).

For any woman considering cheek implants before deciding on what you want, take a look at before and after pictures of other people who have received a similar procedure to analyze if you have the ideally shaped cheeks. Here is a process that some cosmetic surgeons suggest potential patients to do. Looking forward into a mirror is the first step. While doing that, use your imagination to draw a vertical line through the middle of your eye. Next, place your index finger on your face along this line up by your lower eyelid. Where your finger is currently placed is the top of your cheek bone. Again, use your finger to follow this vertical line down your face and you will feel the bone of your cheek. Make sure that you are applying a little bit of pressure so that the fatty tissue is moved out of the way of your cheek bone. With your finger, continue to do so until you feel your finger drop off the bone. When your finger drops off, that is the bottom of your cheek bone. Now, draw a second imaginary line across from your nostril. The area between these imaginary lines reveals the volume of cheek that is in your face. It is important that you feel rounded cheek bones to the point that these two lines cross if you are a woman.
